Brazilian data and AI consultancy Indicium raises $40M for US expansion - Co-founded by Isabela Blasi, Indicium is a data and artificial intelligence consultancy that offers data strategy, data engineering, and AI development services. The New York and Brazilian startup secured a $40 million funding round led by Columbia Capital.
Dropbox, Figma CEOs back Lamini, a startup building a generative AI platform for enterprises - Co-founded and led by Sharon Zhou, PhD, Lamini is building a platform to help enterprises deploy generative AI tech. The Palo Alto-based startup raised $25 million across Seed and Series A rounds. Amplify Partners led the Series A.
Startup that aims to revolutionize cataract surgery raises $17.5M (Biz Journals $) - Founded and led by Dr. Liane Clamen, Adaptilens designed an intraocular lens that imitates the human eye’s natural lens. The Boston-based pre-clinical company raised a $17.5 million Series A round led by Perceptive Xontogeny Venture Funds, with Pillar VC, 380 Cap, and Accanto Partners also joining.
GroundGame.Health and SameSky Health Join Forces to Close the Loop on Social and Healthcare Needs at Greater Scale - Co-founded and led by Susan Rawlings Molina, GroundGame.Health connects health and social services to improve care for underserved communities. The US startup raised a $17 million round led by 7wire Ventures.
Amae Health picks up $15M to scale in-person clinics providing care for severe mental illness - Co-founded by Sonia Garcia, Amae Health aims to improve care for individuals with severe mental illness through a community-based, integrated approach. The San Francisco startup closed a $15 million Series A round led by Quiet Capital. Healthier Capital, Baszucki Group, Mike Volpi, and previous investors Bling Capital, 8VC, Virtue, and Able Partners also joined.
‘Wallet-as-a-service’ startup Ansa raises $14 million with female investors leading the way - Co-founded by Sophia Goldberg, Ansa helps businesses develop and offer branded virtual wallets. The US startup raised a $14 million Series A. Renegade Partners led the round, with participation from existing backers Bain Capital Ventures, BoxGroup and Wischoff Ventures, and new investor B37 Ventures.
Piction Health raises $6M to cut wait times for skin conditions - Co-founded and led by Susan Conover, Piction Health provides a virtual dermatology clinic. The US startup raised a $6 million Seed round from Argon Ventures, Techstars, Good Growth Capital, Flare Capital, and Bayless Healthcare.
Women-led Obesity and Cardiometabolic Health Startup Ilant Health Extends Seed Round to $5.5M - Founded and led by Elina Onitskanky, Ilant Health provides value-based obesity management and cardiometabolic health services. The company announced the extension of its Seed round from $3 million to $5.5 million. LifeX Ventures, Celtic House Asia Partners, Cornucopian Capital, and existing investors contributed.
A pair of Airbnb alums is bringing intelligence and automation to data protection - Co-founded by Elizabeth Nammour and Julie Trias, Teleskope provides an automated data protection solution. The US company raised a $5 million Seed round from Primary Venture Partners, Lerer Hippeau, Plug and Play Ventures, and Essence VC.
Business payments comparison site Tuza taps backers for £4m - Co-founded by Olivia Stannah, Tuza is a price comparison platform that enables small businesses to assess the relative cost of payment services. The London-based company secured £4 million in a Seed round led by Connect Ventures. Northzone, Triple Point, and Entrepreneur First also participated.
Mother Science Reveals Latest Funding Round, Greycroft’s Katherine Power Joins Board - Co-founded by Edna Coryell, Ann Marie Simpson - Einziger, and Jessica Ruthizer Goldin, skincare brand Mother Science raised a $3.5 million round led by Greycroft.
How Y Combinator’s founder-matching service helped medical records AI startup Hona land $3M - Co-founded by Danielle Yoesep and Shuying (Sofia) Zhang, Hona is a GenAI medical records startup that integrates into multiple electronic records systems and summarizes a patient’s medical records to help doctors prepare for the patient’s visit. The San Francisco startup raised a $3 million Seed round from General Catalyst, Samsung, Rebel Fund, Allegis Capital, and 1984 Ventures.
Renda, which provides order fulfillment for businesses in Africa, takes in $1.9M - Co-founded by Bimbo Onaboye, Renda aims to simplify order fulfillment and retail distribution for businesses in Africa. The company raised a $1.9 million Pre-Seed round from Ingressive Capital, Techstars Toronto, Magic Fund, Golden Palm Investments, Reflect Ventures, and Vastly Valuable Ventures. The amount includes $600,000 in debt funding from Founders Factory Africa and SeedFi.
Dutch healthtech startup MindAffect secures €1.1M funding to simplify hearing diagnostics through AI - Led by Jennifer Goodall, MindAffect provides patented solutions to enhance diagnostic processes in auditory and visual assessments. The Netherlands-based startup raised €1.1 million in Series A funding from Barco Limpo, Wasteland Investment, and the NLC Health Impact Fund.
Pollen Careers raises £112,000 to diversify the job market - Co-founded and led by Sophie O’Brien, Pollen Careers is a digital hiring and job-seeking platform for entry-level candidates. The UK-based startup raised £112,000 in Pre-Seed funding.
VC: Renegade Partners Nets $128 Million as Smaller Funds Have Their Moment (WSJ $) - Founded in 2020 by Renata Quintini and Roseanne Wincek, Renegade Partners launched its $128 million sophomore fund. With the new fund, the US-based early-stage venture firm aims to write checks of up to $10 million into 20 startups, mostly at Series A.
Amkan Ventures aims to connect Gulf region investors with emerging U.S. managers - Raida Daoul El Jisr launched Amkan Ventures - the first solo female-led GP fund of funds - to back emerging venture investors in the US. The Dubai-based fund raised $5 million of the $10 million target.
New VC firm formed by a16z, Bessemer, and Index vets - Kristina Shen, formerly a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, is building a new early-stage investment firm.
