Happy Sunday, FemWealth Friends!
What an incredible week for women-founded and led businesses, particularly for those in the women’s health innovation space!
In one of the biggest rounds for an early-stage healthcare company focused on women, Ask Tia has raised $100 million to turbocharge women’s health. Several other startups in this space have raised funds, including Mae - a platform to connect Black expectant mothers with resources to drive positive pregnancy outcomes ($1.3M Pre-Seed), and Babyscripts - a virtual maternity care tool platform ($12M in Series B).
So far, 2021 has been an excellent year for women’s health investments, with global VC investment crossing the $1 billion mark for the first time. Projected to reach $47+ billion by 2027, the global women’s health market is no longer a niche - thanks mainly to the efforts of countless women founders and funders to innovate and invest in this long underserved space. Solutions range from general health specifically catered to wome(x)n and families, to reproductive health, menopause care, and treating diseases that disproportionately affect women.
In today’s edition of FemWealth, get to know some of the *most innovative women-founded and led startups in women’s health, as well as some of the top investors funding them:
